International diversification

Avantis is a relatively new addition to the Spanish industrial group Cecoagro. The pet food subsidiary was set up as part of an international diversification strategy. We operate in several market segments, offering a wide range of dry pet food, from medium-priced to super premium.

Avantis is committed to protecting the environment with sustainable, cruelty-free pet food. The ingredients are free of genetically modified organisms, and product development and manufacturing methods comply with ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 quality and safety standards.

Technology made in Europe

Avantis has carefully selected manufacturing partners with the best technology in Europe. We use fresh meat, for example, which means that only one heat treatment is applied prior to obtaining kibble. This carries substantial nutritional benefits, particularly if compared to products containing meat meal. All fresh fish and meat come from suppliers of food that is fit for human consumption. Also, we employ 100% natural appetite enhancers, which provide unique flavours and features that make pets want to eat.

… and working globally: our distributors in more than 40 countries so far are supplied by manufacturers and warehouses in Iberia (Spain and Portugal). The export team provides customers with the best support, to ensure a seamless market-entry experience, which includes assistance with product registration. In order to complete our global expansion, we are currently seeking experienced partners to become exclusive distributors.

  • 2014
    AvantisPet and Petlife products are launched, starting in Spain and Portugal.
    Avantis Pet
  • 2015
    International expansion starts with new customers in Emirates and Greece. We discovered a new great opportunity for growth in the international market and we began to use all the means to build a project that could reach many more countries.

    Petcool brand is launched (formerly named Petlife): as a result of registration complications, Petlife needs to change and as a consequence Petcool is born as we know it today.
  • 2018
    PURE appears in the market completing our food range with a super-premium product based on natural ingredients and holistic care that enters the markets with great success.
  • 2020
    The catalog continues to grow with the introduction of a range of canned wet food under the PETCOOL brand. Superbly designed, the new products will be widely distributed in the current PETCOOL network as well as in several new markets that already show great interest in the product.
  • 2021
    Renewed website under new corporate name “Avantis, your global partner in pet food” is launched together with a number of new digital tools that will provide better communication with current and future customers, and make order and tracking much easier and enjoyable.
